Laser Skin Resurfacing

Explore the Benefits of a Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment

Cosmetic skin problems build over time. Wrinkles and folds develop as collagen and hyaluronic acid levels decline. Scars caused by acne and injuries, irregular pigmentation due to ongoing sun exposure, and the buildup of damaged skin on the outermost layer contribute to an overall tired and worn-out look. All of this can be addressed by laser skin resurfacing performed at Long Beach-area’s Patient Preferred Dermatology.

The carbon dioxide laser (CO2) has been used for more than 25 years to treat these skin conditions and more, making laser skin resurfacing a time-tested and continually popular way to get a rejuvenated appearance.

Find out more about laser skin resurfacing in the Long Beach area by calling Patient Preferred Dermatology today. We serve Los Alamitos, Cerritos, and all of Orange County. Dial (562) 430-4294 or set up a free consultation with a nurse online.

About Flexile Classic

What Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Treat?

Good candidates for this procedure are 30 years or older with skin damage caused by the sun. It is ideal for patients with age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, rough texture, acne scarring, large pores, and other skin imperfections.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

When a CO2 beam of light comes in contact with the skin, it instantly removes the superficial layers. The fractional CO2 laser is a revolutionary delivery system that can treat 20 percent (mild) to 100 percent (aggressive) of the targeted area. With the outermost layers gone, fresher, younger-looking skin is revealed. The laser skin resurfacing also stimulates new skin and collagen growth, leading to continued improvement over the days and weeks after a treatment.

How Is Laser Skin Resurfacing Administered?

As noted above, laser skin resurfacing uses light, which is delivered by a specially designed device operated by your dermatologist. The operator will move the device over your skin, activating it in the targeted areas to address your specific cosmetic concerns.

Immediately after the procedure, the treated area will feel warm. This sensation usually lasts up to three hours. You may use cool water or gel packs to help soothe the area. Allow the treated skin to naturally exfoliate and peel away. Avoid the temptation to pick at the treated areas. Following a laser skin resurfacing treatment, it is very important to apply sunscreen and to avoid sunlight. Facial make-up may be applied to the skin once the peeling has been completed.

Is Laser Skin Resurfacing Safe?

Yes. The technology is designed for precision and efficacy. The operator is careful to ensure that the correct settings and energy level used maximizes both results and safety.

Will I Need More Than One Treatment?

A single treatment can show a significant improvement in skin texture, tone, and color. Your skin will continue to improve over the next several months. Some patients are so pleased with the early results that they opt to have an additional treatment in three to six months. Others like to have yearly maintenance treatments.
